What is the third prong named "load" on a automotive toggle switch?
There are three prongs on a automotive toggle I have. The left says "Power," I know that's positive, the far right says "Ground," and I know that's negative.
The middle says "Load." What is it for? It's a lighted toggle switch so I suspect it has something to do with it.
How is it supposed to be wired to make it work?
You can use an ohmmeter to check the resistance from one terminal to another. The terminals that go from infinite resistance to almost none when you operate the switch are the ones that you connect to the circuit you're looking to operate.
I can only assume that ground is the common return for both other terminals.
