aluminum and steel contact in carb?
I have 2 carbs of a mercury 50hp Outboard Motor. The butterfly valve has seized because of being left for a few years. I understand steel and aluminium will react if left, especially near salty water. How can I unseize them. Quite thin and delicate so brute force is not an option.

Easy. Go to O'reilly Auto Parts. They sell a rust remover that really works. Its called Rust Away or something like that. It comes in a plastic jug in 2 sizes. A quart costs 8.95 and a gallon is 22.95.
This stuff really works, it won't harm your aluminum either. Usually an overnight soak will remove most rust. It will work on heavy rust but you have to leave in longer. I have used it many times and always had great results.
