Can i use a Volvo Penta outdrive on a Mercruiser Engine?
I have a 1972 Starcraft with a 140 mercruiser and a Pre Alpha outdrive. Can i use a volvo penta outdrive on a mercruiser engine.
After reading the answers so far, I can understand your confusion. In your exact case, my answer is don't. There are just to many problems, from the differences in the engines, and transom shield, to electrical. tilt and trim etc. Just to much. I love Volvo but I've also worked on OMC and Mercruser. It's easier to repair that you have. Good luck!
