How can I get from London to Sydney by land and sea ?
I want to use public transport (buses, trains, ferries, cruises etc) to get across the continents as figure it will be more interesting than flying. Any suggestions for any part of the journey?
You Could check out traditional cruise companies. Or you could look into cargo ships that carry passengers. I just googled and came up with this site: http://members.aol.com/CruiseAZ/col.htm

It's possible to travel most of the way from London to Australia by train via the Trans-Siberian Railway, and quite a few people choose to travel this way. The trip will take 3-4 weeks. However, although there are ferries from Singapore to Indonesia, there are no regular passenger ships to Australia from either Singapore or Indonesia. Unless you can find a cruise or passenger-carrying freighter, your only option for the last leg from Southeast Asia to Australia is probably by air. The Trans-Siberian railway option sounds really cool, actually. I'd look into that myself! ^_^
