What is the maximum amps that I can run to a sub panel through #4 copper wire 115 feet from the main box?
I know that I can run 80 amps through a #4 copper, but because it's such a long run I'm thinking that 80 amps might be too much for 115 feet.
You will have a 5.9 volt drop if you run 80 amps on #4 copper through 115 feet. This is a 2.2% drop (assuming 240 volts) which is less than the accepted 3% limit. But the final answer depends on the distance to the furthest circuit.
A conservative number for current capacity of #4 wire for long runs is 60 amps. Whether or not 115 feet is a "long" run - I don't know.
