how do you install a sterndrive motor?
does it slide onto the outdrive shaft? or is there something special that has to be done
its the same motor that came out of the boat---i did'nt take it out of the boat though

My friend, you've got it back-asswards. Remove the outdrive first, install the engine, then check the alignment with an alignment bar (the one for Mercruiser Alpha drives can be purchased from Sierra Marine for about $80), then install the drive. If you want the correct procedure, let me know, i can scan and download the pages from the manual to photobucket.
